About Chinese American Student Association

CASA, or Chinese American Student Association, 华美学生会, is a UCSD student organization bent on conquering the world. Well, not really, but we are bent on uniting all those with a love for Chinese culture under a common banner, in order that we might forge new friendships and explore this 5,000 year old culture to its fullest.

How it all began

The Chinese American Student Association at UCSD was founded in the 1970s by a group of students who wanted to build a community interested in Chinese culture.

Why we exist

The Chinese American Student Association is here to provide a setting and a community for all UCSD students of Chinese background or an interest in Chinese culture by organizing events that promote and build awareness of Chinese culture.

What we do

The Chinese American Student Association hosts many exciting events throughout the year for students to enjoy. We also explore Chinese culture and heritage together. We also create fantastic culture shows, and support many performance groups. To find out more, simply come check out one of our many events!

How you can join us

Becoming a part of the Chinese American Student Association is as easy as attending an event and letting us get to know you. Membership in the club is not required to be a part of the association (although membership does come with many benefits, such as discounts at local restaurants and lower covers for our events). If you want more information, don't hesitate to contact any of the staff members.
